Simple and well executed.

Awesome.

Engaging, difficult, good music, nice atmosphere, well animated. Unique.

The UI looks decent and it is an at least functional dungeon crawler, but I'm not seeing where the real fun or strategy is. Click arrow keys to randomly move you forward to find stuff, is it a bag? press button to pick it up, is it a monster? click one button until it dies or you lose, repeat. The gameplay has no variety, there is no music, no animations, its like watching a slideshow, and adding a few items to the list of items the game can generate will not change that.

I'm glad to see that this game is getting continual support and undergoing constant revision, growing and changing all the time, overall though I think it needs to grow and change in some huge ways before reaching the level of something engaging.

Good effort on making a whole game, I know its not easy, I think next time you could focus a bit more on making the art more consistent. You had good character designs for the player, seemed very alive and engaging, but the backgrounds and levels were sort of sub-par. The gameplay and level design was essentially nonexistent, and seemed less engaging because there was no integration between how I experienced the story and how I played the game; simply pressing a key to scroll through text in the top right while playing a game isn't a story, it makes me focus on the two tasks separately as opposed to bringing them together into some greater whole. Having the hard to read text stuck in the top left isn't really interesting as far as design goes (not dynamic) and draws the focus away from the character. The story itself was alright, could use some more work there developing some depth to the dialogue, and the effort at the beginning to force the other game on players seem a bit jarring and unprofessional, but maybe necessary.

I'm happy you made something which seemed personal, made good use of music and some character designs, but overall I'm left asking "Why is this a game?" You seem like you have a story to tell and I won't discourage that, but you don't seem like you have any ideas for making a game to play, if you're worried about gameplay making players quit then you aren't doing it right, it doesn't add anything. Its part of the medium, either make it a key and interesting part of the experience or try out a different medium.

Very nice graphics and the sound was done well, on the actual gameplay front it could use some work. Didn't bring too much new to the table or the genre and while there was some nice suspense and a good feel, the level design was uninspired overall.

Decent but not really inspiring.

Very fun, good work.

Excellent game, one of the few which I've dedicated myself to playing all the way through. A unique mechanical spin on an old genre. I do wish that the storytelling near the end had been a bit more solid.

I'll be the first to admit story isn't my strong suit! My goal was to have at least enough story that the player isn't wondering why they're doing what they're doing.

Aspiring indie game developer. I have a strong interest in both computer games, board games, and most all pen and paper/minis stuff as well. My current kick is focused on Papers Please and a some Warhammer Fantasy. My next project, steampunk boardgame.
